Linda Marie Sims Tolbert was born on September 11, 1947 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Chester Carl Sims Sr. and Lillie Bell Taylor Sims. Linda Departed this life on December 3, 2014 at the age of 67 years old at Forest Creek Village Nursing Home.

She received her education in the Indianapolis Public School System. Linda worked a host of jobs: She drove the city bus which was called metro at that time for ten years, she also drove a school bus for eight years, she was an operator referral for doctors at Wishard Hospital, she worked as a teacher’s aid and a secretary for local union #74, She also worked for the Indiana School for the Blind for eight years.

At an early age in life she gave her life to Christ and renewed her faith daily. She was baptized and was a member of Christ Missionary Baptist Church. Later she changed membership to Friendship Baptist Church were she sang in the Choir.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons; Robert Tolbert Jr. wife (Sheila), Sean Tolbert wife (Angela), one daughter; Stacia Elliot, three brother; Alvin Leroy Taylor, Ricky Lee Sims, and Russell Sims. Two sisters; Chestina Love and Sheila Adams. Five grandchildren, and 4 Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

She loved as she lived, and lived as she loved. All that knew her and loved her will miss her greatly.

Funeral Service will be at 1p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory, Harry W. Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Road. Indianapolis. Visitation starts at 11 a.m.
